RON HEDL  Ron founded the University of Chicago Mountaineering Club, along with Mike Fain and Bill Bryant, and was its mainstay for several years. Ron and I and Bill Bryant worked together part-time at the U.C. Meteorology Dept. for several years. When Ron graduated from U.C. he went to Rocky Flats, Colorado - the U.S.D.O.E. Nuclear Development and manufacturing site. Ron was an ex-marine and characteristically enthusiastic about the USA's military defense needs.
The database has a few slide-images of Ron (see photo above)  and his wife Nancy (photo above) climbing at Devils Lake and on the Crestones (Sangre de Cristo range, CO) Western trip.
